Juneteenth National Independence Day

Celebrating the ending of slavery in the United States.

In 2021 the United States recognized June 19 as a National Holiday called Juneteenth National Independence Day.

On June 19, 1895, Major General Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3 formally informing Texas residents that slavery had ended.
